Hello Everyone.

I wondered whether anyone could give me any information on the CLARK family
of Conheath Caerlaverock and other associated families.

I'm following information based on an inscription on a headstone in
Caerlaverock churchyard:
Robert GUTHRIE. Died Conheath 23rd Apr 1835. Age 81 Years.
Elizabeth HUTTON, Died 2nd Apr 1842, Aged 88.
John GUTHRIE, his son, died Philadelphia, 18 Jul 1818, Aged 28 years.
James CLARK, died Conheath, 30th Jan 1932, Age 90 years.
John CLARK, mariner, died Glencaple Quay, 3rd Mar 1845, Age 25 years
Grandson of above, Robert GUTHRIE.
Janet MCCRIRIE (?), wife of the above. Died 18th Dec 1923. Age 80 years.
Helen CLARK, Daughter of James CLARK. Died Brooklyn, Glencaple, 9th May
1953, Age 64 years.

I've been told that there are at least another 4 plots in this graveyard
from the same CLARK family.
Helen CLARK, maiden name Helen MCKINNEL, later went on to marry a Mr
DRUMMOND of Brooklyn, Glencaple. I have been told that they had a son called
Captain William DRUMMOND who married a Margaret PARKER.
