Hi Vivian
I could mention the Napoleonic war, which ended at the battle of Waterloo in
1815. The war had caused famine, high inflation, etc. When it ended , the
depression was like the 1920s.

Hello to the list -

Can someone answer if there was anything traumatic going on in the D&G area
from mid 1814 to mid 1816 that would prompt folks from that area to leave
for the United States (or anywhere else for that matter)?
