Thanks for your reply re CARLYLE. I see that on a family tree I have there
is a William b. 1752/3. I have his siblings as Francis, Jean, Barbara, John
,Mary, Joanna, Margaret and John. My ancestor is Francis b. 1739.

I have recently looked through the Dalton Parish records at the local F H C
and found a few CARLYLES, but not sure how they all fit yet.

My ggg grandmother Isabella CARLYLE (1800-1855) married 1825 John IRVING
(c1780-1845) Gateside, Dalton.
