Hi List,
I am a new subscriber and would be interested in getting information about my relatives from in and around
Dumfries. The family names are Gibson and the Rev. William Murray and his family. His daughter, Agnes, my G.G. Grandmother, married John Gibson and came to Canada in 1843. They were born in Kirkbean Village, south of Dumfries, but I do not have any dates of birth. Some 2 miles away is Tallowquhairn, the name of the farm where a brother Samuel lived. There are tombstones for both the Murray and Gibson families in the Kirkbean churchyard.
Since I have never been over to Scotland to look up these places for myself I would appreciate any information you can give me.
