I have tried unsuccessfully on a number of occasions to find the Births of Comrie Turner abt 1801 and his wife Jane Blacklock abt 1802 or their marriage on the Scots Origins site. The 1881 census says Comrie was born Dumfries. Could any one please tell me if there is missing parish records of this time, or suggest any other search terms i could try. Also in the 1881 census Comrie lived at Bridge St Dryfesdale but on his Death Certificate it says Bridge St Lockerbie, could anybody explain why.
