Hi Liz,

I've lost most of my email address when I got a new computer, so am unsure
if we've corresponded before.

I am a Roddick researcher, along with several others, and we have done a lot
of work on all the Roddick lines in Dumfriesshire.

The Roddicks you are looking for were buried in Ruthwell churchyard:

#176: "Janet Nielson spouse to Archibald Rodick in Howthat who died 10th
July 1754 age 45 years, also above Archibald who died 8th May 1772 age 69
years also Archibald Rodick son to William Rodick in Littlewhat, their son,
who died 13th Jan 1795 age 24 years also Mary Scot spouse to Thomas Rodick,
son to William Ruddick [sic] who died August 1809--(broken) also above
Thomas Ruddick who died at Grayrigg, Johnstone 15th Jan 1849 age 75 years
also William Riddick [sic] son of Thomas Riddick who died at Liverpool 21st
November 1850 age 43 years.

The spelling is as on tombstone inscription. Littlewhat is in Ruthwell
parish. Grayrigg is in Johnstone parish

#164:

"William Rodick in Littlewhat who died 19th Sept 1798 age 65 years also
Elizabeth Carruthers his spouse who died Nov 22 1814 age 71 years also Mary
Ann daughter of Andrew Riddick [sic] who died at Murraythwaite 6th July 1857
age 21 years also above Andrew Riddick who died at Murraythwaite 3rd July
1859 age 80 years.

#164 is son of Archibald. Murraythwaite is in Cummertrees parish.

Lots of Roddicks buried in Ruthwell. The MIS are available on Microfilm
from LDS Family History Centers.
