Shirley,

The town of Castle Douglas is alive and well today. It is located in the
parish of Kelton in the Stewartry of Kirkcudbright (the offical name for the
county of Kirkcudbright).

For a map of the area, go to www.streetmap.co.uk and type in Castle Douglas
for the GB Place. For a late 1700's and mid 1800s description of the parish,
go to the Statistical Accounts of Scotland website at:

http://edina.ed.ac.uk/cgi/StatAcc/StatAcc.cgi

I'm sure a search for Castle Douglas via www.google.com will come up with
photographs of the town and other interesting items.

Good Hunting!

Yours aye,
