Hi Harry
I cannot answer your question, but you are slightly out in your
understanding of the reference. Your full reference for the 1851 census of
Annan would read 812/6/124 meaning Parish [Annan] Enumeration District [6]
and entry number [124] You really need to look at the original to find the
address.
The 1851 census is the only one to follow this reference system., the others
use Parish / Enumeration District / Page number.

Hi Listers
Has anybody got the details of the Annan enenumeration districts? I am
trying to find out the street address of the reference 6/124 in the
1851census I believe that the six relates to the sixth property visited in
distict 124.
The occupants of the property were David Wield 40 Railway Gate keeper and
his family;
Wife Margaret 38
Son William 19
Son Robert 11
Dgh Margaret - my Gt Grandmother 8
Son Nathaniel 1
