My ancestors William and John Lawson Gillies (both provosts of Maxwelltown) established a sawmill on the North End of Glasgow Street which existed from the early 1850s through to the 1880s. Can someone help me with a trade directory reference or where I can find photos of the old mill? Thanks.

PS It was one of only two in the district as far as I know for a very long time.
