i am just starting on my father's side. his parents came here from glasgow in 1909. he is john mckinlay craig b 1917 in n y .mother mary wotherspoon mckinlay b 1884 in glasgow, st rollex parrish., her father john mckinlay b 1853 of dunbartson, his father peter mckinlay b feb 18 (and i copied it wrong as i have 1841 for his birth.) he was from dunbarson.married mary wotherspoon. then another peter mckinlay b 8 feb 1812 from parrish of kilpatrick, dunbatson. my father says they were highlanders originally. on visits some of his cousins spoke gaelic.since my grandfather died in 1928 with a heart defect, he hardly remembers his family, but his father was one of 14 children. the names i know are thomas , jane ,agnes, robert, willian, john, alexander, maddie, margaret, minnie, but nothing about who they married. my father when asked about cousins name will tell you everyone he knew was named robert, john, thomas(tam) or william.thomas and robert came to america as did maddie and!
maybe margaret. alexander and william i think went to australia. dad is 86 and would be thrilled to know more of his genealogy. i am trying, but have not got the hang of getting things from the UK.any help, much appreciated, we must have hundreds of cousins out there. oh and there was one moric sp?thanks susan
