Thanks Marilyn for your help and welcome.

My Grandfather, William Arthur Francis WILLIAMS, was a
Coastguard, in Sunderland, when he got the Carneigie
Award for Bravery when he rescued two boys from the
sea. That occurred on 7th January, 1912.

Could someone please tell me how I might go about
finding details of this feat - newspaper reports, etc.
All I know is that he was living with his first wife,
Florence Fanny (nee Samways) and their children, Elsie
and Frank (I think he was Arthur Francis).

Any help or information will be very gratefully
received.

from a mild, dry, Heathrow.
