I agree with the sentiments posted on the list regarding the unnecessary
need for more local lists, however I have to admit to joining the Sunderland
list as soon as I heard about it! Although my ancestors came from all over
County Durham and Northumberland, and further afield, they all eventually
ended up in Sunderland and I would hate to miss out on any postings which
may be of value. By the late 1800's the following had all converged on
Sunderland:
STOREY
STOKOE
WESTON
DUREY
KEMMETT
HIGGINSON
BAGNALL
and by the early 1900's ROLFE
I would be pleased to hear from anyone researching these names in the
Sunderland area.
