Tribute from the "Land Down Under"
(Lat 17.5s Long 146.4e)
Hello to All,
The family MACHELL that I am looking for was listed in the 1851 census
at Egton in Lancashire. No mention of them in 1881 census so may have
moved to Westmorland or Cumberland as John was born in Kendal, or they
may have moved to Durham or North Yorkshire.
Family in 1851 comprised:
John (Head) age 29 b. Kendal
Maria (Wife) age 35 b. Ulverston
Mary (dau) age 3 b. Egton cum Newlands
Sarah (dau) age 8 months b. Egton cum Newlands.
What I seek is something from census 1841, 1861 or 1871 if such exists
or
similar timespan info.
By then the family could have the addition of one
George Edward MACHELL
born c1851-1853 "near Keswick in the Lake district of Westmorland",
according to his obituary.
And he is the one that I am really chasing!
Be kind and hope to be right
