Thank you SO much, Darrell! I thoroughly enjoyed your
story!
I, too, have many wonderful Christmas memories. (I am
also the "oldest"). Long before I was bitten by the
genealogy bug, I decided to try and put as many of my
special Christmas memories down on paper as I could. I
wanted to leave something behind for my grandkids to
read. I bought one of those little journal books- you
know, the kind with pictures of puppies or scenery on
the front. I chose angels :)
Then I sat down and made a "list" of stories and
recipes that everyone called to get every year.
(Didn't they EVER write them down?) I started writing.
And writing. And writing. Next thing I knew I needed
to get a second book!
I realize now that my little books will never get
"done" until the day I literally cannot write anymore-
Christmas comes every year and with it comes more to
remember!
And so, "cousins", remember this- I wish each and
everyone of you the very best this Holiday season and
in the coming year. Getting to "know" you has been
pure pleasure!
