I want to post the information I have on my earliest William Dyer
and see if
anyone knows anything that might help me. Oral family history is
that two
Dyer brothers traveled overland, got on a boat and came to the U.
S. because
they were in trouble with the law. The first time I know for sure
that I
have one of my Williams is the 1840 Wabash Co, Ill census. William
Jr.'s
family is next door. His wife was Abiah Barker. They already had two
children at that time Charles and Elizabeth. William Sr. and Jr.
are in the
1850 Morehoush Parish, Louisiana census for 1850. Jr. then moved up
into
Dallas Co then Hot Spring Co, Arkansas where Jr. died on January 1,
1904. I
don't know what happened to William Sr. after the 1850 census. I do
not know
the names of any brothers or sisters. I have wondered if Doug's two
Dyer
brothers from Wales might be the same as mine. Sr. was born in Virginia
about 1786 and Jr. was born in Kentucky in about 1818. Any help
would be
appreciated.
