Hi All,
I have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Wales which I spent with my family. I went to the new records office in Carmarthen, which as you say, Pauline, is a great improvement on the old one, and the staff there are very helpful. However, I was not able to spend as much time as I had wanted with my research although I did manage to find a few of my "elusive" ancestors, so I mustn't complain too much.
The reason for my posting is to find out whether anyone has any history on the "Capel y Baran" chapel which is situated quite a way up on Bettws Mountain, going towards Rhyd-y-Fro/Pontardawe. I found my great great grandfather's grave there - a William Lewis - and on the gravestone it says: "of this parish" but I'm not sure which Parish this would be. Can anyone help? Also, where would the registers for this chapel be kept and how far back do they go?
Thank you so much,
Hwyl
