Hi Gerry... David and Sarah married in January 1825. Would that make a
difference as to which denomination the Church represented at that time?

Yowz... that one made the old heart jump at the prospect of a
connection! However, it turns out, my closest THOMAS prospect is not James
but Joseph... more precisely Joseph Edwin Thomas (son of David and Sarah)
b. circa 1845 in Llanstadwell.

They all had to have known each other back then, don't you think... ?

An aside of some dubious value, maybe, but possibly of some interest:
years ago I was platoon sergeant in the US Marine Corps. This particular
platoon was composed of some 45 men. Ten of us were named Thomas. I was the
only white Thomas... the remaining Thomases were black. I have no idea why
the surnameThomas became such a common name amoung African-Americans, but
there you go.
