Re: Gonsalis
I've been writing down the Gonsalis information from the book Old Dutch
Church of Kingston, Ulster County, New York 1660-1809.
Will be composing the information later and sending to all.

A week or two ago, there was a post regarding GONSALUS/GONSALUS-DUC, etc.
I din't take much note, or save the message because I had not come
across it previously. One reply suggested that the ancestry may have
been through Spanish or Portuguese Jews from Brazil.
Yesterday, I received two files from a distant cousin, and upon reviewing
them I found GONSALES-DUC. The extracts are shown below. It would
appear at this time that they were of the Reformed religion, but when a
conversion, if any, took place, cannot be determined. I recall that
there is still standing, a mill, in the Kingston area, which was built in
early Colonial times by a Spanish or Portuguese Jew.
Here are the extracts. there is additional information available on the
ancestors of the spouses families (DeHOOGES and VanETTEN).
