Hi Lorine -- I noted your message re Freer/LeRoy. I am apparently
descended from Hans (Johannes) VanPelt (son of Jan Teunis Van Pelt and
Maria Peters), and his wife, whose name I have as SARAH LEROY. My descent
would be thru their dau. Catalyntje, (born ca. 1710), but they also had a
daughter Blandina. They were located on Staten Island.
I have checked your website on LeRoy (which is fascinating as my
son-in-law has many French-Canadian ancestors, including some
Fille-de-roi), and I am aware that you include the statement that there
were no known childrne of the marriage of Marie Taine, widow of Philip
Casier, and Jean LeRoy. However, I wonder if you have anything that might
give clues to the identify of Sarah LeRoy, wife of Hans (Johannes) Van
Pelt.
Incidentally, I have other ancestors who came on the Gilded Otter,
and my ancestors include the DuBois/Blanchan families who "hooked up" with
the descendants of VanPelt in Somerset & Hunterdon Co., N.J. later on.
