Phyllis,

I did some calculations using the DRC baptism records of children of Herck
SIBOUTSZEN and Weyntie Theunis. If Weyntgen, bpt 1628, dau. of Teunis Thomass
and Belijtgen Jacobus Theunis, is the Weyntje Theunis who married Herck SIBOUTSZEN
and who had all those childen baptized in NA, then she would have been about 59
years old when her youngest son, Joseph, was baptized in 1681, 47 years old at the
baptism of her dau. Weyntie in 1675, and 42 years old at baptism of son Pieter in
1670. It is possible for a man to father children over a period of 40 years or
more. But, I must ask, (regardless of whether Weyntie Theunis was a CRAY or a
QUICK) is it possible for one woman to bear children over a period of 40 years and
until the age of 59?? This would suggest to me that Herck SYBOUTS/SIBOUTSZEN
possibly married twice, both times to a "Weyntje Theunis SOMEBODY". Pretty "far
fetched"; but it would explain the large number of children over a long period of
time and perhaps explain the attribution of both Weyntie Theunis QUICK and Weyntie
Theunis CRAY as being the wife of old HENDRICK. Maybe he married both??!! As
Cynthia would say "HELP!!!" Has anyone searched the NA DRC marriage records for
a 2nd marriage for Herck?
I'm very confused by all this to say the least. I stayed up until 2:00AM
the last three nights sifting through baptism records, etc.; and then when I did
"hit the sack" I couldn't sleep! It's becoming an obsession with me!! I'm not
giving up on this until it becomes untangled (if I live that long). OH WELL!!
Such is the life of a hopelessly adicted genealogist.
Incidentally, I have the DRC marriage and baptism records of the Dutch Church
of Sleepy Hollow, Tarrytown, NY from 1697 -1790. (published 1901 - Reprinted
1986). Some of the grandchildren of Herck and Wyntie were baptized at
Tarrytown. When I get back from vacation, I'll try to transcribe them for the
benefit of those interested.

P.S. I might drop from the list temporarly when I leave on vacation in about two
weeks. I hope that someone brings me back up to date when I return. I'd hate to
miss the answer to this intriguing puzzle of who was Wyntie?.
