Hi! New to the list and looking for information on the origin of the
Joralemon family. Currently fifteen known spellings in this country
including Jerolaman, Jerolamon, Jeroleman, Jerolemon, Jerolleman, Jerolman,
Jerolmon, Jeroloman, Joralemon, Joralman, Joralmon, Jorolemon, Jourolmon,
Gerolemon, and Gerolman. Presumed siblings were:

1. Helmer Janse Joralemon b. 16__.
2. Jacobus Janse Joralemon b. 16__.
3. Jan Janse Joralemon b. 16__.
4. Margrietje b. 16__.

Obviously their father was Jan, but Jan who? This family was in the Albany,
New York area before removing to New Jersey. In various information on the
origin of doughnuts, a Mrs. Anna Joralemon is related to have weighed 225
pounds, opened a store in New York City in 1673 on Maiden Lane and was the
first person to make a business of selling fried dough (doughnuts).
However, I can find no information in actual records relating to her.

1. Helmer Janse Joralemon had marriages banns published 25 Dec 1687 Albany

"Jacobus Jansen Ralemon, young man from New Albany and Pietertje Claes,
