I know I am late responding to this. It is because I am sooo far behind in my
E-mails. I am responding to this statement:
While I know that the list is not the place to locate many Colonies
descendants (though it certainly could be if we wanted to make it such a
place), I was also
interested in the broader question of whether the majority of list members
are primarily interested in New York and New Jersey, or if their goal is to
piece together all of the descendants of a particular Dutch colony immigrant.

I am interested in piecing together all of my husband's ancestors. I didn't
even know that this was not the purpose of this list. To me descendant's are
not persona non grata because they fill in missing link in my husband's family
history.
