I tried answering this query directly, but it didn't work. So to the list.
The Adam Gerritz who was a sponsor of Thomas & Margrietje Morgan's son Adam,
bap. 27 June 1680 Flatbush, has not been identified.
I really doubt that Adam Gerritz was the father of Margrietje Gerrits &
Machteld
Gerrits since using the patronymic system - if he were their father - they
would not have been Gerrits but Adams.
An article in The NYG&B Record Vol. 124 pp. 135-143, 201-203, with additions
at 229-230, gives Margrietje Gerrits who married Thomas Morgan, as a daughter
of Gerrit Segers.
There was a ref. to Jan and Adam Gerritsen in 1654 New Amsterdam in connection
with the loss of a boat, but that's all that has been found on Adam.
