Hi!

I'm looking for more info on Cornelius NORWOOD and his wife Elizabeth
WHITE. I located a November 18, 1802 marriage record for them in the
RDC records of Acquackanonk, NJ and the following 1830 census info
which I believe to be theirs.

Acquackanonk, Essex Co, NJ
Cornelius NORWOOD50-60
female40-50
male30-40
female (x 2)15-20
male10-15

I think the 30-40 male might be the listing for my 2nd g grandfather
Richard NORWOOD but I'm having trouble locating confirming evidence.
There is no individual census listing for Richard in NJ for 1830 so
that makes it *possible* he was still at home. However, I believe
Richard had married in 1826 and had children. But then it's also
possible one of the 15-20 females is his wife and those early children
died young. Richard named his first son Cornelius and it would follow
Dutch naming conventions for his father to have been so named.

As far as church records go, although Cornelius and Elizabeth's
marriage record is recorded in the RDC records of the area, there are
no baptism records that I've been able to find for any possible
children. I also haven't been able to find any of Richard's children
recorded in the area either. Luckily, I have copies from a family
bible with that info, just nothing further back.

NJ is proving to be exceedingly difficult to research. Any help,
thoughts, suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Irene
