The following were killed at the Oxroast given by Gov. William Colby on the
new Battery, New York:
July 15. John Hendrick Symes, Esq., Sheriff of N. Y. City.
July 15. Catharina Courtland, 9 years, only daughter of Phillip Courtland,
Esq.
July 16. Jacob Hendrick Vollweiller, son in law of William Rome, died of
injuries sustained at Oxroast.
