he said the descendents of Joris adopted Johnson and his brothers off-spring

Lent family that Joris' children used Rapalje.
I had never seen this reported before. Will find the site for you in a
minute and pass it along.

Peggy and the rest of the gang,
I believe I found this Johannes Janszen's baptism (the John Janszen who
was mayor of NY) here it is: "Baptism records for 1665, 18 Apr; Jan
Jacobszen, Metje Jans; Johannes; Pieter Evel, Gritie Jans." His father was
married four times and in one of the marriages it said he was from Vrieslant
(NA RDC)"4 Dec. 1666, Jan Jacobszen, Uyt Vrieslant, Wedr. en Britten Oloff,
Wede. Van Pieter Corneliszen. "
Now they may be talking about another Jan Janszen as there were many.
Interested to here from anyone on his father being Jan Jacobszen and his
mother being Metje Jans. This baptism fits the death date mentioned in the
paper.
