Can anyone identify the second witness in the following baptismal
record?
NA RDC 1661:
16 Jan; Meyndert Courten, Maria Pieters; Pieter;
Pieter Pi-aed, Aeltje Marsael
I'm actually looking for an "Ealise" or Elsie "Marshall" said to have
been "a Dutch" girl who supposedly married in Stamford, CT on 27 Nov
1652 to Robert Pennoyer. I know that he was an early land holder at
Gravesend.
Of the father in the above record Bergen [KCo p176] says:
"---c1676 or '79 bought of Janse Ver Ryn a part of the Robert Pennoyer
and of the Anthony Jansen from Salee patents located on the main road
leading from the village of N.U. to Gd, and on De Bruynne's Lane or
the old Bath road, to which he removed and on which he continued to
reside until his death."
Perhaps there was there was some sort of relationship between the
"Elsie Marshall" I seek and the couple having the child baptized in
1661?
The above baptismal witness is the first "Dutch" name I've
seen that remotely translates to "Marshall"
