Alice Kenny was elected a fellow, not a member, of the society. A number of
colonial historians have been honored by the Society in this manner, most
ineligible (wrong sex, no colonial ancestor) for membership. In my own case,
my immigrant ancestor in the direct male line arrived on these shores 250
years too late for me to apply for membership. In recent years the society
has created an auxiliary membership for other persons. Those interested may
contact the society for further information.

I note that Alice is credited with having been Director of Museum Access at
the Albany Institute. She was indeed an early spokesperson in many places
for the needs of disabled persons, having been confined to a wheelchair in
her later years.
