Hi Bob,

Thank you for this account. I'm familiar with much of it, but
have a few questions.

At 08:44 AM 4/5/01 -0500, Protzman, RL (Robert) wrote:

I know that van Laer in his appendix to the Van Rensselaer Bowier Mss.
called "Settlers of Rensselaerswyck" concludes that Roelof, Anneke, and
daughters came on the Eendracht; based on various documents (see eg.
p. 308 of the above book). I have seen _conjecture_ but never any
evidence that Tryntje also came in the Eendracht in 1630. And this is
the first I've seen that she made an earlier trip. So, I'm curious
what your sources were for these 2 voyages of Tryntie Jonas.

Is this in Van Rensselaer Bowier Mss somewhere?

This is the first I've heard he had lived near Mastricht. Are you saying
he was there at some time between being born on Marstrand and living
in Amsterdam? And where did you find this info?

The circumstances of Roelof's leaving Van Rensselaer seem open to
varied interpretations. I'm curious what your sources were and
how you interpret them. Also, I think he left sometime in or after
1634 (see VRB p. 280) -- which date I see you have in the next
paragraph.
