Thank you, Lorine... you've given me a lot to work with:)
Now, I am thinking it is possible that Annatje Sprong may have been the
Johanna (Anna) Sprong (b. or bapt. March 29, 1696, Bushwick) who m. a
Cornelius Van Catts. Is it at all likely that the name Annatje may have
applied to Johnanna? I know that the name variations were many, and throw in
"nick" names and it gets confusing. This Johanna is the dau. of David
Sprong/Rachel Lequier. Another dau. of theirs (Catherine (Catrina) Sprong)
m. Johannis Van Catts, so it also seems as though this family of Sprongs had
close ties to the Van Catts family.
The Annatje Sprong info I was given does not give dates for her, but does
include an "abt" date for Cornelius Van Catts of b. abt. 1693, which
certainly would be appropriate to Johanna's age.
Any ideas/suggestions on this line of thought appreciated.
Kindly,
Christine
