I read of interest the comment abt Dirck Barentszen SMIT. I have never
seen the name BARENTSZEN associated with his name. Is he the same Dirck
SMIT who was a witness to the following baptism.

1655 Apr 18; Lucas Dirckszen, Annetje Cornelis; Hendrick; Dirck Smit van
Lochem, Vaendrif, Elmer Huysen, Styntie Laurens

If he is the same Dirck Smit from Lochem, Netherlands; Would he be related
to Hendrick Barentsze SMIT/SMITH who is also noted to be from Lochem at his
marriage?

16632 Jun. Hendrick Barentszen Smit, Van Lochem, en Geertie Willems, Van
Nieukercke.
