I am seeking information on Lea Holliday who md Levi Grannis on 6 Dec
1818.(first marriage performed in Brant, Erie, NY). From her
gravestone it says she was born 25 August 1801. The Grannis family
records say she was from the Albany area.

I looked in the New Salem baptismal book. The entry at the top of the
page (two entries before "Lea) shows 1801
B. June 9 and June 21 (baptismal).
Lea Holiday (dau. of Matthew and Caty Cooper) is shown with a birth
date of Oct. 1. No witnesses are shown. There are three more
entries, then someone is born July 26, baptized Aug. 23. I therefore
feel Oct. 1 is an incorrect date. In other entires where the year is
different, the previous year was given.

I think but would like evidence Lea is the one born Aug 5. Tobias and
Henry (who I believe to be her brothers) were in Erie County at the
same time. Most federal and state censuses show Tobias just a entry
or two away from her. In 1820 Henry (a bro. of Tobias) is near
Tobias. There is also an Abram nearby whom I cannot identify.

Any help with this family would be appreciated.
