Dear Sharon and others,

It seems clear to me from the various messages sent to the list
and to me privately, that many people think *I* personally have
some relationship with the NYGBR online webpage and forums.

To be very clear on this matter - I have *NO* relationship with
them except as a regular dues-paying member.

I am the moderator of several of their online forums but that
does not mean that I have any special standing beyond that of
any paying member. I moderate the forums under my direction;
nothing more. I do not decide who can join or cannot join. I
merely help direct forum messages to on topic conversation.

It's like being listowner of a Rootsweb Mailing List. A maling
list administrator has control over the list, i.e. the
authority to delete posts or unsubscribe individuals but NO
authority or access to Rootsweb itself.

I have no access to the NYGBR webpage, nor do I have any input
regarding its setup or decisions.

Writing to me, or the list, about problems encountered on the
NYGBR website is not very effective. Concerns should be
addressed to the contact person given on the website.
