Dear Dorothy and Diane

There are many BOOM baptisms in the Kinderhook Church Records,
including the following for your Johannes & Anna BOOM

1722. Joh. Boom, Anna Boom - Chatharina [sic] Sp. Burger Huyk,
Arientie Vosburg

1727 Joh: Boom, Anna Boom - Mathys. Piet. Lodewyk, Christ.
Lodewyck

1729 Joh. Boom, Anna Barbr. Boom - Samuel. Bastiaan Lisser,
Elizabeth Lisser

1731 Johannes Boom, Anna Barbar Boom - Maria. Nicolaas Rouws,
Maria Rouws

1733 Johannes boom, Anna Barbar Boom - Samuel. Joh's V.
Valckenburgh, Annatie Van Slyck [Van Slyck and Van Valkenburg
being two of my family lines]

1735 Johannes Boom, Anna Barbar Boom - Johannes. Johannes
Hucyk, rachel Huyck

So there you have it - Dorothy, you were bang on with Anna's
name being Anna Barbara (Barbar=Barbara for those who might not
know this).

Could the recording of Anna as Anna Burger in Albany be a
mistranscription for Anna Barbar? Just something to think
about....

Considering the plethora of Palatine sponsors (Loscher, Rausch,
Ludwig...), I'd second your suggestion to Diane that she post
this as a new query on my Palatines-L mailing list!

To subscribe,

As a quick idea, how about looking at the German Matthias Baum
(Baum=Boom?) on Hunter Lists in 1701 with 3 persons (not named)
over 10 years of age. More can be found on him in Jones' book
on The Palatine Families of New York, Vol. 1 but no children
are given.
