The cemetery records for the oldest part of the cemetery, adjacent to the
Tappan Dutch Reformed church, are now available on the Dutch Door website at
http://www.dutchdoorgenealogy.com under "Church Records" and then "Tappan".

There is a large cemetery across the street and to the north, still in use,
and some of those graves are quite old as well.

This record uses the Budke numbering system - the one that will tally with
the new "Index to the Budke Tombstone Records". I'm curious to know how
widely available Budke's Tombstone Books (there are two volumes) are,
however. Much Budke information seems limited to the NYPL and some Rockland
County libraries. If someone knows where else it is available, I would
appreciate knowing.

But there is another listing for the graves in the churchyard cemetery
prepared by Gertrude Barber in 1931, and I have compared her list with
Budke's (no date for Budke, but he worked in the same time frame). When
Barber differs from Budke, Barber's version has been listed in square
brackets.

Hope this is helpful.
