We have a line of our family that has been a brick wall for some time. We are working on the name HOLLEN. We recently found a family history that was written in 1946. It
stated that the Hollens were Dutch and were in the Hudson River valley in 1686. I have found Hollenbeck and Hollenbeek but not Hollen. I think the name may have been shortened but others say that this surname existed in the Netherlands. The frist real records for the family turn up in Maryland in the 1770s. I am new to this list and could really use some help. Is there any way to proceed with the little bit of information I have? I would appreciate any information, ideas or suggestions.
