As is invariably the case when I post to the Dutch-Colonies
list, I end up soon regretting it.

The message I wrote to this list Fri, 22 Aug 2003, regarding the
three shares of the Tappan Patent owned by Jan Pietersen Haring
when he died intestate, evidently contained substantive errors
and unwarranted assumptions, and called into question "accepted
Haring information which is the result of many researchers'
labors over more than a hundred years".

I apologize to the list for having erroneously presumed myself
well enough informed to get involved in this discussion.
