Dear Dorothy,
I believe that Jan and Annetje also bp. little Willem in the NY RDC on
October 06, 1681. The sponsors were Hendrick Abrahamszen and Tryntie Kom. In this
record the infants mother is shown as "Anneken Abels". If my records are
correct, this Willem later married Weynti (Kraukheyt) Sybouts, dau of Sybants
Hercksen.
Backing up a bit, the baptismal record for Annetje Alberts shows her father
as Albert Cuyne. In the record for her brother's baptism in 1641, the father is
shown as Albert Cuynen. In neither is the name of the mother given. Since
this young "Albert Cuyne" was born here, he shouldn't be the same person as
"Albert Coninck" born in the Netherlands?

<< Margot, David Lear has given you Annetje Albert's baptism in 1640. Jan
Cornelisz Van Tassel and Anneje Alberts had three of their younger
children baptized in the New York Dutch Church as well. I have included
the witnesses names where given:
23 Aug 1676 Jacob Albert Koning, Isaac Van Vleck, Engeltje Horgers
[Should be "Borgers/Burgers"]
1 May 1678 Jan Manus Borgers, Annetje Borgers
9 Oct 1683 Annetje no witnesses' names recorded
David M. Riker in his 2000 "Genealogical and Biographical Directory to
Persons in New Netherland...", says that the immigrant, Albert Coninck, a
tailor, was born in the Netherlands. His first wife was Grietje Lievents.
Albert and Grietje had two sons baptized in the New York Dutch Church:
8 Jul 1663 Barent Coenraedt ten Eyck
17 Apr 1666 Roelof Cornelis Clopper, Marritie Boelen
According to David M. Riker, Albert Coninck, the immigrant, had a second
wife -- Tryntje Jans. According to the "First Book of Records" of the
Brooklyn DRC, page 222, "Albert Coninck and Tryntje Jans joined the
Brooklyn DRC on 9 April 1664".
A comparison of these records reveals a conflict and raises the
possibility that there were TWO contemporary men named Albert Coninck --
the one who was still married to Grietje Lievents in 1666, and the one who
joined the Brooklyn Church with Tryntje Jans in 1664. Perhaps they were
father and son.
So we have refined your original question to "Who was the mother of this
Annetje Alberts?"
In 2 generations there seems to be a close connection to Burger Joriszen
and his wife, Engeltje Mans, and their family.
Does anyone see a light at the end of this tunnel :-)?
Dorothy
