Diane, to recognize that many families using the same or similar surnames
often named their children using the same first names. Therefore you simply
cannot assume anything or jump to conclusions. Each family member must be
completely searched to ensure that he or she is connected to the correct family
branch. One of the greatest errors researcher make when doing Dutch research is to
ignore dates and assume because the individual has the correct name, that
that person is the one they are seeking. In otherwords don't try and shove a
square peg into a round hole or just because it looks like a duck, walks like a
duck it is one.
