Subject: Mayken d/o Jan Thomaszen bpt. 1641, NA DRC

The baptism of baby Mayken took place at the NA DRC 24 March 1641. Adriaen Martenszen, Thomas Thomaszen, Commandeur Koock, Diever Van Dyck, and Tryntje Van Camp were witnesses.
The name of Mayken's father was Jan Thomaszen, and no mother's name is mentioned.
Jan Thomasse Van Dyck is said to have emigrated ca 1652. After having had his earlier children in Amsterdam, he then went on to continue his family here.
Harry Macy, Jr.'s article titled "Amsterdam Records of the Jan Thomaszen Van Dyck Family" that appears on pages 239-242 of the October 1995 issue of "The New York Genealogical & Biographical Record", volume 126, number 4, says that Jan Thomaszen and his wife were Frisians and the Frisian forms of their names were Jan Guecke and Tryntje Agges, and that they had 6 children baptized in Amsterdam: Engeltjen in 1636; Tames (Thomas) in 1639; Anna in 1640; Angnietje in 1644; Karel in 1648; and Marten in 1650.
"Distinguished Families in America" says about Jan Thomasse Van Dyck:
"JAN THOMASSE VAN DYKE, the son of Thomas Van Dyke, was the founder of the Van Dyke family in America. He
came to New Amsterdam from Amsterdam, Holland, in the year 1652 with his wife Tryntje Achias or Haegen and seven
children. It is said that she was his second wife and that his first wife was the mother of four of his children. He died in 1673."
I have had it it suggested to me that this Mayken in question, might have been a daughter of Jan Thomasse Van Dyck. While there is a space in the Jan Thomasse Van Dyck issue that would fit this Mayken, I find the location of her baptism problematic. Of couse it isn't impossible that Jan Thomasse Van Dyck came here with his family, baptised a daughter here, then returned to Amsterdam, had more children, and returned to NA again, but I can't see any indication that this was the case.
Could this Mayken have been Mayken Jans van Hoboken, and possibly the sister of Josyntje Jans/Thomas/van Hoboken?
Her marriage record to Otto Laurenszen indicates that she was born in New York.
1667 20 Feb; Otto Laurenszen, jm van Mispadt; Marritje Jans, wid van Jan Jilleszen, van N. Yorcke.
My ultimate goal is actually to properly identify Josyntje Jans/Thomas/van Hoboken who md. 1. Pieter Wesselszen 2. Gerrit Hendrickse (Blauvelt) 3. Anthony Serley
and I would appreciate any in-put anyone might have about this as well.
Regards and my thanks,
