I am looking for the letter my great uncle Thomas Rosekrans wrote to Allen Rosekrans on Feb 4, 1897. Allen Rosekrans wrote a book on The Rosekrans Family in the United States. I think the book was published in 1900. Would also like to find the letter Thomas Rosekrans received from his son John S. Rosekrans relating to Allen Rosekrans' request for information on the Thomas Rosekrans family.

I am a Rosekrans on my mother's side of the family. I am doing research on, as Allen Rosekrans titled the section of his book, "Families of the Rosenkrans name, whose early ancestry is unknown"

Thomas Rosekrans was the eldest son of James T. Rosekrans and Caroline Siver Rosekrans. Thomas was living in Kingston in 1897. His son John S. Rosekrans was living in Gardiner, N.Y., where he was a miller. I am related via James T.'s youngest son Charles T. Rosekrans, born 1847.

James T. Rosekrans was born Feb. 15, 1806, the son of Thomas Rosecrans and Martha Townsend Rosekrans. Thomas Rosekrans was born July 1762, the son of Johannes Rosekrans and Sarah/Zora Schoonmaker Rosekrans..

My name is James A. Davidson. My mother's name is Dorothy Rosekrans Davidson. The daughter of Herbert Rosekrans of Rensselaer, N.Y.
My mailing address is: 8911 112th Ave. N.E., Kirkland, Wa. 98033. I will be visitingNew York in two week to do research.

In addition to the challenge of finding the two letters mentioned above. I am looking for information on where James T. Rosekrans is buried. He was living in New Baltimore, N.Y., in 1850 and according to his son Thomas he died in 1852. James T. Rosekrans' father, Thomas Rosecrans disappears from view after 1800, except for a listing of a Thomas Rosecrans in the 1814 Albany directory.. Listed as a blacksmith/metal worker.
He spelled his last name with a C, THUS WE HAVE ROSECRANS INSTEAD OF ROSEKRANS.

Would appreciate some help.. It is a real challenge

Thanks,

James A. Davidson
