Received some additional information from Cousin Jack that might be
interesting to some and helpful to others...

In regard to George W. Eaglin born 1793, Patoka, Marion Co., IL.
 
There were NO Eaglins in Marion Co in 1850 census but there were two
EASLIN families which I think were probably really Eaglin misread. 
One was headed by Ann, 45, b. TN (c1805) a widow, possibly of Geo. W.
above.  Children including James 23 oldest and Pomeroy 20 were b. in
IL (1827 earliest), neither of whom is in the 1880 census.
 
By 1880, there were two EAGLEN families and one EAGLAN family listed. 
Thomas 27, b MO, but both parents b OH, was in Patoka Twp. He is
probably the son of George 55 b. OH, father b. MD whose 13 yr old Arthur
(c1867) was b. in IL.  Alfred Eaglan 47 was also b OH, father b.
MD...which means they were probably bros.  I failed somehow to list
what state his children were b. in.
 
I just noticed Thomas above listed as born to George & Sebra (correct)
in 1855.
 
Alfred appears to be the A. T. Eaglin    who is listed in the
Marion Co. history as marrying Mary, dau. of W. K. Simcox and moving to
Henton, OK.  The history is dated 1909.
 
You might want to add this info (have more on above families from 1880
census, 1850 census if you want it.  Not much, as they are extracts.

My point about early dates (esp in IL) being suspect refers to the Geo.
W. alledged b. Patoka, IL, in 1793.  All of IL in 1793 was one county,
St. Clair (where I live) and IL was part of the Northwest Territory at
that time...which proves nothing, of course.   However, Marion Co.
history says that the first settler in Patoka Twp came in 1826 and as of
1829 only two families were in the twp, neither being an Eaglin of any
spelling.
 
There must be transcription errors somewhere along the line:

Sarah Ann b 1863 Lynchberg, Highland Co, OH
Stephen Franklin b 1864 Lynchburg, Mason Co, IL
James Thos. b 1859 Lynchburg, Highland Co, OH
Laura Marie b 1861 Lynchburg, Highland Co, OH
 
Either Geo. M or Stephen Franklin is incorrect..
 
Mary Eaglin to James Ryerson 1874 in Crawford Co, MO is my gt gpas
sister.  One child who d. unmarried and childless, raised in IL. 
Have never been able to find Mary's or James' death...gt gpa raised
their son.
 
James H. Eaglin to Mador Sullins 1872 Crawford Co, MO, was his
brother.  He m. 2 in Jefferson Co, IL, and returned to MO.  This is
Lee Clardy Eaglin's ancestor which my poor memory called John Henry
incorrectly in recent correspondence.
