Would anyone have information about the Eckles who went to Wilkes co Georgia
in the 1770's? I found a record in a will index that said there was a will
for an Edward Eckles who died in 1779 in Wilkes co georgia. Could that be
the same Edward Eckles who was born in 1710-1717 in England and lived in
Virginia and was the father of Thomas Eckles who was born in 1743? My
ancestor was Jane Eckles who married Solomon Ray in 1796 in Wilkes co Ga. I
am trying to find who her parents were. A researcher sent me ino that the
book "Early Records of Georgia" listed on page 487 listed Jane's father as
Thomas Eckles. Unfortunately I checked and there is no page 487 in that book
in either volume. If anyone has info about the Eckles in Wilkes co or
Oglethorpe co Ga please email me at
