James,
I (and others, I'm sure) would be willing to support your cause, but feel I
must ask: at the time the EDWARDS family papers were supplied to the BBC,
was anything said or written about the BBC having the right to keep
materials it uses? Was there a warning that materials may not be returned,
or that the BBC claimed no responsibility for original materials? Did
anyone on the EDWARDS side specifically request those materials to be
returned? I want to be fair.

Subject:[EDWARDS-L] Re. Edwards Family Papers

Dear Listers,
I pray your indulgence for what will unfold in the next few lines. It
concerns a subject very close to the hearts of many of your fellow Edwardses
here in the UK. We require your help, to recover hundreds of Family papers
entrusted to our BBC. Television. The papers consist of research material
sent in at the behest of a BBC1. TV. programme called, 'Good Fortune'
(1994), that material is now in the possession of a third party, and beyond
the reach of the Family. We hold the BBC responsible for the management of
this material, and we are at present in negotiations with them to resolve
the situation. Our aim is to have all the material returned to the Edwards
Family, where it rightfully belongs. It would be an immense help if you
fellow Edwardses would add your voices to ours. United we surely will be
victors, all that will be required from you would be a short email to the
BBC stating your support for the speedy return of the papers. If you think
you can help, please email me for more details and the name of the contact
at the BBC.

Thank you for your time and patience, Kindest regards, James Higgins.
