Since I have been tracing my family I have been getting a collection of these queries concerning the Edwards papers. Being a decendant of Robert Edwards and the fact that my mother told me the story also led me to posting about this subject. I was doing it to find family members. I did not do it thinking I would get any money. One thing I did come across was that in the original lease part of the payment was one peppercorn a year. Well if you want to see something, type in Trinity Church and search their site. You will find that when Queen Elizabeth toured the united States, she was presented with a bag of peppercorns, by the church, as a symbolic gesture, which it states was the payment for the land the church is on. I must say I had to laugh at that one. I just look at it as "we Edwards" just weren't supposed to be there with the Rockefellers and the Gettys, and whoever else..
