Message Board Post:
I am researching two children of the family of Sampson Edwards, b. Abt 1741 in East Mill Creek, Wayne Co., NC. He was married to Jemima Reeves and they had 10 children. Their two children in particular that I am especially interested in are:
- Elizabeth Anne Edwards, b. 6 Nov 1802 in Wayne Co., NC
- John Edwards, b. Abt 1804 in Wayne Co., NC (her younger brother)
Elizabeth Anne Edwards married a John Killett, b. 28 Dec 1795 in Grantham Twp., Wayne Co., NC. They moved from Wayne Co., NC, to Prattville, Autauga Co., AL, between 1835 and 1837. Nine of their 13 children were born in Wayne Co., NC; the other four were born in Prattville, Autauga Co., AL.
John Edwards, Elizabeth Anne's younger brother by approximately two years, also migrated to Alabama, but I'm not sure exactly when and who, or if he married. He appears in the 1850 census of Montgomery Co., AL, at age 46, living next door to the household where William H. WILSON, age 55, Alsy (Elsie) WILSON, age 39, and William J. EDWARDS, age 20, lived. According to an old Edwards family bible, William James Edwards' mother was an Alsy (Elsie) Wilson.
Can "anyone" help me figure out this puzzle with these particular three families originating from Wayne Co., NC, in the 1800's? Please e-mail me direct at: .
