My gr-gr-grandmother, Joanna Edwards Owens, was also a daughter of Solomon and Harriet Edwards. Another message reply told me that they had the following children: Celeste, James, Solomon, Joanna, and your Daniel Webster. Is this consistent with what you know? Do you have birthdates and birth places for Solomon and Harriet? Any information on them would be most welcome. I have puzzled over them for the longest time.
My gr-gr-grandmother, Joanna, went to Texas, I understand, with her family. She is listed in the census by her sons as having been born in Mississippi. She was born Oct. 27, 1847. She married George Houston Owens, a Confederate veteran, in Gonzales, TX, in 1870. They had four boys, William Henry Owens, James Arthur Owens (my great grandfather), George Edgar Owens, and Daniel Lafayette Owens. They were all born in Thompsonville, Gonzales Co., Texas. Joanna Edwards Owens (called Jo Hannah) died there in 1916.
