Hello List, I also have one Wiiliam Edwards b. Dec. 1833 in Illinois,
parents both born in Illinois according to the census. Family lore has been
that our Edwards came to this country, when it still belonged to the Native
Americans, but I can't get any farther back than this William Edwards that
lived in Calhoun Co., Ill., where he raised his family and died in 1915.
Wifes's name was Elizabeth Clara with unknown last name. They were the
parents of my gr-grandmother Sarah Ellen Edwards Sprague. Which Edwards
families were among the very first to arrive in this country and where?
