Thomas C. Brown in his pension statement also said he knew
Joseph Sanders:
This entry doesn't have Joseph Sanders but A Sanders and look
at all the other names!!! Remember Thomas C. Brown's son,
Francis, married Elizabeth Vaughan who is reported a descend of
the Gerrards and that the Bryans are also allied through
Francis's daughter's marriage to Jesse Van Hoose s/o Mary
Bryan.

James Garrard (1749-1822) served as colonel in the Virginia
state militia and was a member of the House of Delegates; later
became governor of Kentucky. He was born in Stafford County,
Va.; died in Bourbon County, Ky.
William Garrard served as lieutenant-colonel in Stafford
County, Virginia militia. He died, 1786, in Stafford County.

Thomas Bedford was a member of the Committee of Safety of
Charlotte County, Va. He was born and died in Virginia.
Thomas Lewis (1749-1809) served as lieutenant in the 11th
Virginia Continental regiment, 1777; was also a member of the
Fairfax County, Va., Committee of Safety. He was born in
Fairfax County; died in Kentucky.

Edward Payne (1726-1806) was a member of the Committee of
Safety of Fairfax County, Va. He was born in Stafford County,
Va.; died in Fayette County, Ky.
Samuel Bryan (1757-1837) served as private, 1777, in the North
Carolina Line. He was born in Rowan County, N. C.; died in
Southport, Ind.
William Bryan (1733-81) served as frontiersman and soldier. He
commanded the Fort at Bryan Station. He died in Fayette County,
Ky.
