Iwould appreciate you checking your Vital Records Index for me. I have just
taken up a 14 day free trial of Ancestry.com, so I will be searching that
madly for the next 10 days or so! Let me know if you would like me to check
anything there for you - it looks like mainly US information.

I would like to find out more about my great great grandparent George Elliffe,
and his parents.... Putting together pieces from the 1871, 1881 and 1981
censuses for Croydon, Surrey, and records from the local St Peter's church in
Croydon, a relation of mine (Moya Loveridge) worked out that:

my great great grandparent was likely to have been George Elliffe, labourer or
drover, who was born in about 1821 (not sure where) and died on 6 Jan 1873 in
Croydon. He married Mary Mills, who was born about 1826 in Froyle,
Hants(fordshire?), England and died after 1881.

They had 4 children:
1. George (b about 1850, Croydon)
2. William Robert (b about 1852, Croydon)
3. Olive (b about 1856, Croydon)
4. Henry Walter (b 9 October 1865, Croydon), my great grandfather
